Review: Tall antenna with excellent performance - I mounted this to my Back Rack headache rack with their antenna brackets. The antenna mounting holes in the brackets are large, but a Procomm JBC930 Super Extra Heavy Duty 3/8-24 Stud Mount for Ham & CB Radio Antenna fits well. I am sure similar products will hold the antenna also. This mount has already weathered a few antennas... so I decided to keep using it. I connected my dinky Midland CB and analog swr meter to the antenna with 25 feet of LMR-240 RG8X coax. The swr was in the 1.2 range from CH1 to CH40, but the meter doesn't really have high resolution. I just received a AURSINC NanoVNA from desertcart yesterday, so I decided to try it out! I looked at frequencies that are just a little lower and little higher, so at 26.7MHz the swr is 1.15 and at 27.5MHz the swr is 1.18. This antenna performs better than any of my ham antennas, but the operating frequency and bandwidth is very narrow in the CB universe. Although this antenna is pretty tall, the build quality and performance are hard to ignore and required ZERO tuning. Worthy of note: President Electronics is a French company and the antenna was made in Spain. Anyway, because the swr is so low on this antenna, I recommend this it to anyone who can hear other CBers but they cannot seem to hear you. Since most CB radios are limited to 4 Watts and SSB CB to 12 watts, good cables and antennas really make a difference.
Review: THIS ANTENNA DOES TEXAS PROUD - This is one big antenna so be prepared to get a solid mount for it to go on. My downside was that I couldn't get it with a PL mount. Apparently they are sold in N. America with a 3/8 mount only. Everywhere else in the world it's PL. There was a bright spot in all of this though - I had to choose a new mount, in my case a magnet mount, so I bought a Tram Tri-magnet-mount especially for the "Texas", and I'm glad I did. At 83 .5" there's no way my Wilson PL magnetic mount could be relied upon to keep this antenna from being dislodged (and potentially permanently damaged). It deserves a solid mount, and the tri-magnet delivered. Back to the antenna... as you'd expect, this antenna really gets my signal out, and there is no comparison between this and every under 60" antenna on the market. However, if you have a Sirio 5000 or 4000 already you won't see much if any difference. I own both of the antenna's just mentioned and did a comparison between the 3 to confirm what I already knew: The difference in length between the 4000, 5000, and Texas aren't enough to see a real difference on the "S" meter. I'm very happy with my purchase and will update this review down the road if something occurs that warrants it. So, unless you're one of those people who just like to buy-and-try antennas (like me), and if you already own a Sirio 4000/5000, there's no real reason to buy this. If you are looking to upgrade your current antenna (for example: you have a much shorter antenna), then look no further and buy this now. Just remember that it will require a solid base to mount it on. I almost forgot - the warranty is excellent and if you purchase a President antenna with a President radio they (President) will extend the warranty of that radio to 5 years! Now THAT is a deal.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How durable is the fold pivot point? Could it be folded weekly, or it just for rare times?**
A: I would guess that it won't hold up for everyday fold-down/up's. I've had several similar antenna's and that feature was best left for rare / infrequent times.
