(Also love the little ping pong paddle shaped zipper tab... it's the little things.) The Paddle itself was free of any defects. The pads were firmly attached and there was no flapping. Same goes for the fabric that runs the edge of the paddle. After Use: At first I was concerned because the paddle gave an almost hollow sounding noise after hitting a ball, almost as if the plywood was loosely adhered together. HOWEVER I did not notice any lack of performance or any play that was out of the ordinary. So far I have loved the control it gives me and allows for a boat load of spin to be put on the ball. I knew it was a good paddle when I won my first game with it over someone I had never beat before. Overall: Highly recommend. Well, last night I went back to the club and I hung with and beat the same players who beat me consistently last week. Practice helped, sure... but I get great spin out of this paddle and find it to be quite forgiving too. As far as appearance, Overall, the racket is aesthetically beautiful. I think the guard edge tape around the blade isn't quite wide enough to really cover up some of the jaggedness of the sponge. Again, I won't complain and I'll definitely recommend this paddle to friends, but just thought it would be worth mentioning. Being new to competitive Table Tennis, I am not sure if there is a standard width for the guard edge tape or not but if not, it would definitely be nicer to have it a little wider. The only issue is the rubber started pulling away from the wood after only a week of play(which is why it’s not 5 stars). I used a good amount of super glue which solved the problem.
