Part of the criteria to meet ANSI Z87.1 standards is that its clearly marked on the lenses and frames. These glasses do not have any ANSI markings on them whatsoever. **Q: Are these polarized safety glasses?** A: I have several different safety glasses. I like these the best. However, they are tinted not polarized. So in direct sunlight I often wear other darker glasses. These are great for enhancing my vision, but not so much for blocking bright light. They are great for low light driving, shooting, or working out of the direct sun. I actually wear these more than any of my other glasses. Side note: about a month ago I was on the highway, in rush hour traffic, moving at a high rate of speed, when a heavy rain started. Between the rain and the mist put up by other's tires I couldn't see cars 15 to 20 feet away. No one slowed down (I believe out of fear of being rear ended). I grabbed these glasses and put them on, and I could suddenly see the other traffic around me. Tint is dark but not to dark. They fit good but do not have rubber cushions in the nose piece and after a while lead to discomfort.
