When I was looking at self levelling tampers, most appear cheap and most are overpriced and most turned me off. This tamper turned out to be made of 3 milled aluminium parts and 1 fairly heavy spring. One does not really need a weight gauge for tamping, nothing much happens past 25LB anyway.
