The plot seem hurried and too contrived for the reader to be able to invest any type of emotion in it. Rock Me is the first book in the new Bachelor Bad Boys series and it's hooked me right away and I did not want to put this book down!Ben Hollander is a bodyguard who works for Alpha Security. He works with a group of people that are more like family than just colleagues. When new assignments are handed out, Ben's boss knows that he isn't going to be thrilled with his new charge, but he was the only one available for the job. When Ben learns that he is going to be guarding someone from his past, it's clear very quickly that he's not sure how he's going to handle it.Summer Michelle is on the verge of having everything she wants. She could be the opening act on tour for one of the biggest artists in the music business, but she has to beat out another woman who she's been competing with for years. The two were on the same reality show years ago and the competitive spirit of the other woman doesn't seem to have lessened over the years. While Summer is being threatened, she doesn't really understand the severity until her new bodyguard, and a huge part of her past, walks back into her life.Needless to say things didn't end well between Summer and Ben the first time around when their short affair ended when someone ratted them out and Ben was fired from his job. What is very clear once they are around one another again is that they both feel the same way they did years ago. They are insanely attracted to one another and it doesn't seem those feelings are going away. With Ben in a similar position this time will he be able to put his feelings ahead of his job or will duty win in the end?I enjoyed the characters in this book, the pace of the story was great and I also liked all of the supporting characters. I'm definitely interested in what is going to happen with the other members of Alpha Security and if they are all going to get their happily ever afters!I would highly recommend checking out this new series.
