The thread didn't tangle and I actually had quite a bit left over when I was done (pictured). The stamped design soaked off easily in water. Some of the color choices are a little odd, but that's my only real complaint.It doesn't come with instructions because you really don't need any. All of the squares are stamped with a design that indicates a corresponding thread color. There's a paper copy of the pattern in case any of the designs are smudged on the aida (a couple of mine were like that).I had never cross stitched prior to this and I was able to figure it out and complete it in 4 months give or take. If you've never cross stitched before I would look up a beginners video on YouTube to get the gist of it before starting.
