Imogen Dyer is a beautiful model and her photographer for this book, Mark Wilkinson, knows how to use his camera to capture that beauty. Of course the book is filled with gorgeous images of Imogen taken by Mark, but add to that the down-to-earth advice, tips, and tricks on how to shoot portraits and what you get is an instructional text simply worded that feels as if you are in a one-on-one shoot with Mark!The book is geared towards beginners and/or intermediate portrait photographers who are looking to take their portrait photography to the next level - photographers such as myself. I have found this book to be a great benefit, with chapters that detail "Posing," "Themes," "Taking Your Shot," and "Accessorizing" that will guide you through a portrait session and enable you to make stunning photos. One of the main features of the book is the fact that you're told right from the beginning that you don't need expensive equipment to make great photos. One of the camera's Mark used for some of the images was a Canon Rebel T2i, I don't think you can get any less expensive than that!I highly recommend One Face 50 Ways: The Portrait Photography ideas book. I did find it useful for inspiring my own ideas which is always good. This is my first photo book, and I'm very happy with it. Imogen has always provided excellent tips and information on how to shoot portrait photography, and this book is no different. In many ways it's better, as it allows you to truly take time to appreciate the photography, and understand the concepts that are spoken about in the book.In the book, Imogen mentions how Mark has the use of an Idea Book, and that the hope is that this book could serve as one source of inspiration to others. I personally can say that I will definitely do so, as there's already so many things I want to try based on what I've seen and read.
