XYZReptiles Premium Live Oak Leaf Litter is a chemical-free substrate designed for terrariums, providing a safe and nutrient-rich environment for amphibians and reptiles. This half-gallon product covers approximately 0.75 square feet, traps humidity, and serves as a food source for beneficial microfauna, all while being proudly sourced and treated in the USA.

## Description

Our live oak leaf litter is collected from 100% pesticide and herbicide free environments. Isopods should always have a constant source of leaf litter inside their enclosure. This allows them to consume the organic material over time, while offering shelter. Isopods will not only consume the leafs, but often prefer to hide underneath them. It looks great in a naturalistic vivarium as well. Our live oak leaves break down over time and will eventually be consumed by any isopods in the enclosure. Leaf litter plays a very important role in a naturalistic vivarium as well as any isopod enclosure. The leaf litter provides shelter, visual barriers, and hiding places for the inhabitants. Each live oak leaf also puts nutrients back into the environment, providing plants and microfauna with food needed to thrive! One gallon of leaf litter will cover approximately 1.5 square feet to the desired depth of 1 inch.

**Q: Can these be used a Dwarf Cichlid aquarium?**
A: I would avoid these leaves for that if they are spotted with black spots when you get them. Several people including myself have gotten infected leaves from this seller, and when introduced to water they will infect other plants in your aquarium.

**Q: Should I get half a gallon or a full gallon for a 44 gallon terrarium?**
A: Hello, we recommend a full gallon for a terrarium that size.

**Q: Are these okay for a ball pythons ?**
A: Hello, yes these can be used in a ball python habitat. They can be added to the bedding but we would not recommend only using the leaves.

**Q: Are the sterilized?**
A: Not to sure but pretty positive it is, bc I'm a breeder for crested geckos and use it in my bioactive, so there safe if that answer u question! 👍
