## Overview

The WGCWH Car Windshield Defroster & Space Heater delivers 130 watts of efficient heat via a 150°F fixed thermostat, fitting most dashboards at 45" x 10.5". Powered by a 120V outlet, it costs just about 1 cent per hour to run, preventing ice buildup without draining your car battery or idling your engine, making it an eco-friendly and cost-effective winter essential.

## Description

The Warmguard WGCWH car windshield heater provides 130 watts of power to safely heat your car’s windshield preventing snow and ice accumulation. Additionally, this product will raise the temperature of your car’s interior, minimizing or even eliminating the need to scrape your windshield and side windows, and making your car comfortable to drive without waiting around, so you can get to work on time. The warm guard WGCWH car windshield heater is good for the environment, eliminating wasted gasoline and preventing exhaust emissions which pollute our air and contribute to winter smog. Some municipalities have even made idling a car illegal, making an electric car dashboard heater the most practical option available for defrosting windows. Finally, the cost to run this heater is approximately 1 cent per hour, making it significantly cheaper than idling your car for 10 minutes. Unlike 12V heaters that run off of your car's battery, the warm guard car windshield heater will not drain your battery, so you can sleep easy knowing your car will start up in the morning on freezing cold nights. Instructions for use: to use, place the heater on your car dashboard with the logo facing up towards your windshield. The heater comes with a 2-foot long cord, so it will need to be powered via an electrical extension cord. Run the extension cord from the receptacle to the heater and plug in. The extension cord is designed to be sandwiched between your car door jam and not intended to be run through a cracked window which would allow cold air to fill the inside of your car and defeat the purpose of this heater. The heater temperature is limited by an internal thermostat and will not exceed 160 F (70 C), approximately the temperature of a hot cup of coffee. Before driving away, unplug the heater from the extension cord and move the heater off of your dashboard to keep it from blocking your car’s defrost system.

## Features

- Uses 150 f internal fixed thermostats
- Very affordable; cost to run this heater is approximately 1 cent per hour
- 45" long x 10.5" wide, designed to fit most standard car dashboards
- Save yourself the time and hassle of scraping your frozen windows in the bitter cold
- This heater will need to be powered via an electrical extension cord. Run the extension cord through the cars door jam.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you plug this into your vehicle when you are driving?**
A: Yes, with some caveats.
*) If you put it on your dashboard it will block the defroster vents.
*) It runs on AC current so your vehicle needs to have a power inverter which converts the 12v DC electricity to 120v AC electricity.
*) It won't heat the car. In the dead of winter (here in New England) it's warm enough to keep the windshield de-iced when parked but the car is still freezing cold inside.

**Q: how well does the power cord fit through a vehicle door?**
A: I used a flat extension cord with enough voltage to handle the WarmGuard and the flat extension cord I put on the bottom of the car door. Not a problem works like a champ, just used it this morning. Hope this helps

I should have bought this sooner

I live in Texas and we don't have much winter weather but when we do it's usually in the morning.I was having trouble with my car heating up when it is cold (which it is fixed now).If you have this in your windshield (my car is 2006 Toyota Corolla) and turn it on about 1/2 before you go. When you get in the car your windshield will be totally frost/ice free and your car will be warmed up.I bought this so I can turn it on from inside the house:BN-LINK Smart WiFi Heavy Duty Outdoor Outlet, Timer and Countdown Function, No Hub Required for Outdoor Lights, Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant (Outdoor) 2.4 GHz Network onlyhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JQSX11M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I also bought a temperate device and I'm hoping that the I can turn it on only when it's below like 45 degrees.

The Warm Guard works as advertised! Will get another!

This thing is awesome! I live in the Lake Tahoe/ Reno NV area. During winter you have a sheet of ice on the outside and fogging on the inside of your windshield. I have to get to work by 6 am. I did not want to spend $$$ on a remote start system so I opted for this for around 100 bucks. Best 100 bucks I have spent in a while. Set up and stowing is quick and easy. Since the unit keep your windshield above freezing temps there is no ice build up or fogging. Get in the car and leave a few miles your car is warm enough for the defrost and heater to take over. I would suggest a “flat” all weather grounded extension cord to run from in the car to a GFI power plug. Made in the USA, simple and practical. I will get another one to keep on the shelf.

    Works as anticipated.

I bought this to reduce the window scraping time on my snow plow truck. And, it has worked well. I still had to scrape a bit on really cold mornings with fresh snow, but the window being warm, even made that easier. Only down side, is that you can end up with an ice build up below the window, if there is a heavy snow night.
