In my own case, I am very happy to get the light version. I was concerned that the medium would be too hard for me and then I would give up. I am currently doing exercises for my back in physical therapy because of herniated discs. I want to start toning up other parts of my body so this is my first addition; The handles are very comfortable, they have a black foam like cover which is much more comfortable for arithritc hands than bare bands. I can do stretches when sitting on the couch while my back heals. I did 20 stretches and it will be so easy to sneak them in while watching TV.I can feel the resistance but it is not overpowering. I recommend that anyone not used to using bands to get the the light instead of the medium. If you have a lot of toning to do, definitely get the light version. I was a little disappointed in the exercise booklet.
