It wouldn't even turn on connected to outlet **Q: Does it work perfectly with Alienware 17R4** A: Yes, of corse! It's specially designed for Alienware AW17R4, so it can fit for 17R4 perfectly, thank you. **Q: I had to reinstall windows i can't find the software the runs the advancing gene fan device. please provide link to the software to control speed** A: Good question. When I received mine I was able to get the software because the instructions had a website link which was all in a different language. Just had to guess which buttons to click. The software was junk...I couldn’t adjust the rgb’s With or alienfx on my laptop and the fan control wasn’t automatic, you could only set it at static speeds. To trump all of that the fans are super loud and the power adapter was junk. I had to use a razor knife to trim extra cord plastic off just so it would go into the jack. I did testing with my laptop on the cooler with fans all the way up and my temps were the same as when I simply propped the back edge of my computer on a book. And when you don’t have the fans on (say because you don’t wanna listen to them) then this thing actually chokes the laptop of air. This thing seemed like such a good idea but in reality it’s just a low quality illusion of a good idea. I was so disappointed because the way this props the laptops rear up while still leaving the front and keyboard access at the desk level was ideal. I would suggest returning your product if you are still in the window where u can.
