I happened to see these while browsing and thought they would work to help soften the hard callouses on my big toes. They really did- I used some moisturizer on the callous and put these toe caps on at bedtime. The next day, the calluses were much softer, and by the end of the week my toes just really looked good! I also realized that putting them on and using them when I'm taking walks works really well to cushion my toe and prevent a callous from forming. They're very comfortable and they're not too tight. First, it was "one size fits all since they stretch." I followed up by asking why are there two (2) sizes to choose from if that's the case? "Well, it depends on the diameter of your toe." Okay, so what's the approximate guideline cut-off point between Small and Large (Note: Medium is NOT offered)? "My daughter's toe is about 1.5cm in diameter. What size should I buy for her? "I don't exactly have a guideline answer to that question, but we have a great return policy with a full refund and we pay for return shipping." I'm trying to actually avoid the hassle of dealing with a return and, by the way, if I order the correct size the company doesn't deal with an opened package return, pay for sending to me and the cost of shipping it back. "Since your 17-year-old daughter wears a size 8 1/2 shoe with 1.5 cm diameter, a small will probably fit since it stretches. Most women get small and men get large." They are made to be cut down for shorter toes but fit me very well "as-is". The only caution I have is they seem to lose their elasticity after about a week and do not stay on the toe well after that so order accordingly. They are easily cleaned with soap and water and I have them on my reorder list as I type this. Great product! **Q: Do these work well on a hammer toe?
