Pros *by K***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2018* Pardon this long review. I was with Kyocera forever until they stopped using Gorilla Glass. Ended up cracking the glass on my Kyocera Duraforce. Then bought Kyocera Hydro View ATT Go phone in is place. When I moved to a different carrier, I couldn't take my View with me because it was unlocked. Enter a three month search for a phone that could hold up to the beating I would give it. It had to be waterproof, drop proof, shockproof and the screen had to be at least Gorilla Glass 3. In my husband's words, it can stand a nuclear attack. Throw in a fast processor and I was asking a lot. I literally stumbled over BLU. Never heard of it before. Read the specs on the BLU Tank Extreme Pro 6 and decided, what the heck, let's give it a try. I ordered the red version. It worked so well that I ordered the black version for my husband, a campus security officer who needs a sturdy phone.Pros:Sturdy. The entire back and sides are made of molded hard rubber. True, it makes the phone heavy. For someone like me who drops phones constantly, that's a selling point.Gorilla Glass. If you need a phone where the screen won't crack, this is your phone. BLU also attaches a screen protector to the phone before they ship it, and puts additional screen protectors into the box for the future.Clear Screen: I've owned many cell phones. This one has the sharpest screen I've ever seen in an inexpensive phone.Apps: BLU puts very little bloatware on their phones. This is an unlocked ATT type (GSM) phone and there is NO ATT bloatware on it. It comes with BLU Rewards, BLU Help and a few other minor programs. The rest is available for the apps YOU want.Phone: Clear signal and the speaker phone is fantastic.Web Browsing: Fast on the wifi. Fast on data if you have a good connection. I use Chrome and never have a problem.Case: It comes with a clear case to protect it.Camera: Never have I seen such sharp, clear pictures from a cell phone. It also comes with a pretty decent video ability, and for those that like to watch Youtube videos, this is almost as good as a Sony.Cons:SIM Card: It lists that you can use dual SIMS. You have to read the description to know that the second SIM is also for a memory card so if you want additional memory, you have to sacrifice the second SIM.Case: The clear case is great and very protective. But you have to really press the side volume buttons when the case is on for them to work.Setup: For some carriers, like Consumer Cellular, you will need to call customer service for them to walk you through the APN process. The phone worked great at my house, which has a Wifi set-up. It didn't work at all when I left the house because I had not set up the APN which meant I couldn't connect to my network. After my carrier walked me through setting up an APN and then switching the phone to that APN, it worked perfectly. For those on T-Mobile that were having trouble using the phone, check to see if you have an APN set up for T-Mobile in the cellular networks settings area. The phone comes with an ATT default one. If you don't have a T-Mobile one, you will need to set one up. It's easy. Its clear the company had to take away some things to give users a rugged waterproof design. The phone itself is clearly designed for people that value dependability over the best in class processor and whatnot.I'm very basic with my smartphone needs. I don't play games. I use my phone to check my emails, news, and weather. I occasionally need a gps and maybe a few of the apps you can use like tools such as a wifi analyzer. For me, a person that is always on a budget, but loves to hike and works in an environment where phone damage is all too common, this is perfect.Pros:-Rugged Design (obviously)-Pre-installed Screen Protector + Extra In Box-Vibrant 5" Screen-Nice Loud Speaker-Without the extra case, the buttons are incredibly easy and comfortable to press.-Excellent AT&T signal. Even gets 2 bars inside of an insulated cooler where everyone elses phone drops their signal.Cons:-No Notification Light (If you need it, however I'm enjoying not eyeing my phone all the time for messages)-The case that comes with the phone can make it a little hard to press the buttons-Camera isn't the best, in dark conditions can lag when taking pictures-Its got weight but I don't know if you want to consider this a con considering the weight = a large battery + structurally sound body.Final Note: If you are on a budget, and would like a phone that just simply gets the job done, doesn't really need to take pictures but rather do the basics like I have listed initially, and would like a little more peace of mind carrying your phone around, this is for you. Doesn't work with T-Mobile. *by W***T on Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2018* I have purchased over 8 BLU products phones for myself and family. We have used T-Mobile for the SIMs and have switched to Mint Mobile. which uses T-Mobile towers. All the other BLU phones work with Mint and T-mobile except for this one. It won't receive phone calls; it just sends them directly to voicemail. The text messages work, and the voicemail notification comes through but no go on receiving a call. Its kind of the main point to having a cell phone. Besides that it comes loaded with BLU stuff and advertisements that I can't track down. All of a sudden the phone begins playing music and its a 30 second advert for something and its really, really loud. Wow! I've never had that before with a BLU phone. What happened to this company?
