Both have the DisplayPort connections and immediately provided signal to an attached monitor. The Legion is a video server to a Samsung QLED HDTV. In that case, the adapter "read" the potential resolution of the HDTV and signaled the graphics card of the laptop to raise it's resolution to 4K HD. Best picture yet from this combination. Since it's an adapter for compatible connections I think it would work on the PS4.
