Review: A fun addition that works amazingly well! - I wasn’t sure this would add much value, but for the price, I figured I’d give it a try—and I’m glad I did. This thing works extremely well. We used it on our Nikon Z30, and it fit the hot shoe just fine—maybe a tad snug, but nothing problematic. We tested it while filming our son’s first time flying a kite. As you can imagine, it was a windy day. Without this wind shield, the mic picked up all the typical wind noise—distracting and annoying. Once we added the wind shield, though, the wind was almost completely canceled out. Yes, there’s still a bit of subtle wind noise, but it’s dramatically quieter. Voices remained very clear and easy to hear. I didn’t even turn on the camera’s built-in wind reduction, but I imagine using both would make wind noise practically disappear. Great product—highly recommended for anyone who films outdoors!
