A number of origins of the name have been suggested. Roughan means "clarified butter" or "oil" in Persian and Hindi, while juš (alternatively romanised josh) means to "stew" or "braise" and ultimately derives from the verb jušidan meaning "to boil". This is the best available option. The dish was very tasty. This was not spicy at all . So if you like spicy the you need to add additional chilli. I only added whole spice , hing and ginger paste before I added the mixture. No need to add anything else other than salt and chilli as per your taste

Made chicken curry using it,not mutton but damn i loved it..Came out amazing ..Just added 3 Tbsp Oil+1 onion+ 1 tomato + 4 green elaichis+ 500g chicken+this rogan josh packet...after about 10 minutes,added water..And let the water boil to almost 30% of what was added..I loved it...Will buy again
