I think it was noise it makes that he didn't like. After a few months he went from occasionally drinking from it to drinking from it all the time. Mine does leak a little and there's some adjustment of the water pump flow trial and error needed to get just the right flow to prevent splashing but all in all its a decent alternative to a static bowl. My dog stopped drinking water from the bowl he had drank from for 7 years so we switched out his bowls every few months then discovered he would only drink water from the bathroom sink and not from the utility sink in the room where his food and water bowl are kept. Finally I tried this after catching him drinki,g from one of the toilets. I know it seems obvious but be aware that you need an outlet near where you intend to place this fountain and it requires more frequent refilling with water than traditional bowls. The filter doesn't really get dirty because its just water but the bowl and filter do get a film on them that needs to be cleaned occasionally. I reccommend placing a towel under the fountain for splashing, leaks and spills. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Perfect if you have thirsty dogs *by S***D on Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2017* Well I used to think it was a great product but I had to come back and edit my review. It worked very well for a couple months. But then one day I found a pool of water around the bowl. I wanted to blame the dogs but this was in the morning and the dogs are crated at night.I inspected for any cracks or holes that could cause the leaking. None. I thought that was weird so I just filled the water back up and let it go.Just a week later, same thing. This time, though, I figured it out. When the water would fall down the little waterfall part, some water would splash out onto the floor. Hours of this would definitely leave all the water on the kitchen floor and not in the basin.No, I did not fill the water past the max line.So now I just use the basin. I removed the other components including the pump.I wouldn't recommend this product. I'm going to be shopping around for a better designed one. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It really works *by B***Y on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2017* Better value than the most expensive one at the store due to value and performance. I have 2 always thirsty dogs and this last them all day before it runs out...granted they weight 8 lbs each but I would imagine it would would work equally good for a bigger size dog that drinks the average amounts of water....it holds a sustainable amount of liquid and it keeps the fluid clean, cold and fresh.
