## Overview

Marchesi de Frescobaldi Laudemio First Pressing is a premium extra virgin olive oil, bottled at 16.9 fl. oz. Imported directly from Italy, it serves as a versatile ingredient for any gourmet kitchen.

## Description

In Florence, the Marchesi de' Frescobaldi family name is synonymous with quality and tradition. The dynasty has been making wine and olive oil since the Reniassance, and in 1986, Bona Frescobaldi was responsible for conceiving of and creating the Laudemio Consortium of olive oil makers. 2017 Tasting Notes:What a Tuscan olive oil! This is a sophisticated oil for the connoisseur, with a complex aroma of soft and loud notes held in equal balance. On the nose, there is a hint of cinnamon and eucalyptus. The taste is bitter, green, and spicy like taking a healthy bite of a raw artichoke heart and as tannic as a big structured wine. The color is unreal, like an emerald; the cut of the bottle emphasizes this jewel-like quality.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: For such an expensive oil why isn’t it a darker glass. Why so light doesn’t that increase the oxidation?**
A: That's why the bottle comes inside a box, to protect it from light. However, this special edition gold bottle also protects the oil from light without the box

**Q: Why is it Gold and not the bright green I am used to? Does it taste the same as the bright green oil?**
A: The olive oil is golden colored. The bottle is clear. The gold that the reviewer is mentioning is not the bottle.

**Q: How long will the anniversary olive oil be available?**
A: Hello, the anniversary oil was produced from the 2018 harvest so will be replaced by the next harvest towards the end of 2019. However, it will be available while supplies last. It expires in November 2020. I hope this is helpful.

Miam!

**Q: Any idea what the the polyphenol count for the current harvest is?**
A: I would say likely around 400mg/kg if well preserved by the time it gets to your house. I tasted a bottle in Tuscany in November 2018 and also previous vintages. It is typically around those levels once it gets to the market. I doubt you will get the benefit of 550mg/kg as suggested by one of the sellers. Moreover, you may indeed prefer a milder 400mg/kg (still high compared to most products) vs. a more robust (and bitter) 550mg/kg as. Consider that producer's data provided to importers and distributors are typically based on lab test conducted right after harvest in November 2019. Laudemio is a reliable product, but only if correctly imported or it can deteriorate during transit. Few olive oil importers invest in temperature-controlled containers or airfreight, so check with them and purchase olive oil only from trusted sources which know how to handle olive oil. Disclosure: I am an olive oil producer and certified olive oil sommelier not associated with Laudemio

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent taste
*by D***D on July 9, 2018*

This is the BEST olive oil. I never use it for cooking, only for drizzling on pasta, good bread, mozzarella and tomatoes, etc. Smell heavenly, has a good strong bite- very good olive flavor.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best taste but expensive

Taste best but expensive

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice bottle

I purchased this olive oil on recommendations of Dr. Berg, a nutritionist on YouTube. I like it but do find it to be pricy .
