I will say filled or not this stainless steel has a little wight to it. My daughter barely carries anything in her school backpack when I place this it does make it a tad heavy. Definitely leak proof seals tight and even keeps the food a tad warm until lunch time. I love the squares but the fit is bigger than their original plastic lunchboxes. As long as you wash right away smell shouldn't be a problem - my daughter did forget once over the weekend but even then just the food residue smelled didn't effect anything else. Girly colors and easy to use 10/10 recommend!

Finally found the perfect lunchbox for my kid. Stainless is the way to go! I love the Bento Brand have always purchased their plastic style boxes until now. Better for your health especially for your kid. I will say filled or not this stainless steel has a little wight to it. My daughter barely carries anything in her school backpack when I place this it does make it a tad heavy. Definitely leak proof seals tight and even keeps the food a tad warm until lunch time.
