Cooks in a shorter time than other brown rice and overcooks rather easily. You can however make pretty good fried rice with egg, onion, soy sauce, butter, black pepper, genuine mirin, toasted sesame oil and frozen peas. Maybe some chilis or Japanese 7 spice. Not however ideal for general purposes.
