It is basically a soldering gun with unique tips for melting plastic and inserting wire staples for strength. It comes with a large assortment of wire staples and several smoothing tips. Case is handy to store all the parts. Since using it I have learned some good techniques to repair plastic parts well. It seems well made and continues to perform. I would rec. this if you are a DYI person wanting to repair items rather than just throw them away.

I only use this for repairs around the home, so don't expect my opinion to be valid for professional use. Everything works as expected. Very easy to use and has all the pieces I will need for a long time to come. If you have used side cutters before, you will know that the supplied ones will not cut flush. This may or may not be a problem for you. I use flush cutters, otherwise there is around 1/16" wires sticking out with the side cutter supplied. This beats using my soldering iron hands down and preserves the iron's tips.
