Was easy to install, just opened up my laptop swapped it, fitted as expected, then screwed everything back on. Installed a fresh copy of windows and the rest is history. Much more storage and much faster, can't complain at all. I could have bought a higher tier of laptop with more storage but for the price difference buying this and fitting it made far more sense. Its been in my laptop for over 1.5 years and have had no issues. Great value for money. For example, this gen 4 NVMe SSD will work in a gen 3 PCIe slot, and a gen 3 NVMe SSD would also work in a gen 4 PCIe slot. Do note however that speeds will typically be reduced in doing this as Gen 3x4 can only go up to 4000MB/s or 4GB/s. I wanted the speed of SSD, but did not want to compromise on storage. I have cloud backup, but like to store my files locally too, ensuring I have everything accessible in the event of provider failure. My PC did not have a direct M.2 slot, but I bought an adapter to install in a spare PCI Express port, and this overcame the problem. I now have fast boot times, and plenty of space for everything I’m ever likely to store. I trust Kingston as a brand, and purchased from Amazon themselves, rather than the general marketplace, as I know there are bogus drives about.
