A: Yes I use a packet with a new bag each time, but Some bags are thicker than others and could be used more than once

A: The shelf life is 15 years. It is recommended that you store it in a dry environment.

Really works. Have a travel 5 gallon bucket w/ toilet seat. Use compactor garbage bags and put 3 poo gel packets in there. We peed 5 times and it was gel when I took bag out to throw out, no bad smell. Very happy with the poo gel packets instead of kitty litter. A must buy
