The Zing Ear ZE-109 is a UL and CSA certified two-wire pull chain switch designed for ceiling fans, lamps, and wall lights. It supports up to 3 amps at 250 volts or 6 amps at 125 volts, featuring a durable plastic shell and rust-resistant copper chain for smooth, reliable operation. Easy to install without wire cutting, this bronze switch combines safety, compatibility, and longevity in one sleek package.

## Description

Note: Disconnect the power to the fan before removing the old switch. Make sure to write down the position of all wires that you disconnect in the process of removing the switch. Do not cut wires from old switch, but remove by inserting blade of very small screwdriver next to wire and pulling out. Then insert the tinned wires in the same order as removed into the new switch." (If you cut the wire you will lose the stiff tinned end and make it difficult to insert into the new switch unless you strip and re-tin it again with a soldering iron)

Review: Works well. Has exactly the same thread for the fixture to screw on properly. Ball chain is rather short, had to use original ball chain to extend the length. Bought a spare "just in case", but appears I'll not be needing it in a hurry.

**Q: Can this switch replace my original switch E87438?**
A: You should probably just see if the switch in question matches by appearance

**Q: Is this for three speed ceiling fan?**
A: You can put it on any ceiling fan, it works the lights.

**Q: what are the dimensions of the switch ? i need one that is no more than 1 inch across**
A: I installed it months ago and didn't measure it so not sure on dimensions but it was a small clear plastic circle as shown on Amazon, that the chain slides in to rotate the on-off mechanism.  My guess is it is less than an inch.  It was the same size as the original.  It fit mine perfect.

**Q: Can I just cut off the wires of the old switch and attach this one with electric tape?**
A: The old wires pull off easily from the old switch and fit easily into the new switch.  Make sure you keep track of where the old wires come off so they go into the right place in the new switch.  Best to do one wire at a time.  Line up the new switch along side of the old switch and you should be able to see where the wires go.  Connecting with electric tape may not hold or connect well,
