Review: Withstood hot oil. - This looked more like a Chinese chili-oil pot than an American/European sugar bowl, and I think it is intended for chili oil. Spoon is very small, good for chili. It claimed to be borosilicate, and perhaps it is. It did survive being filled with 375F hot oil to make chili oil infusion.
