## Description

From the manufacturer X-tremeVision: Up to 130% brighter light Take performance to the X-treme Increased brightness Maximum light, maximum performance Change both your headlamps at once for more safety See further, react faster Perfect illumination is especially important in the distance - usually between 75 and 100 metres in front of your vehicle. With Philips X-tremeVision car bulbs you can see up to 45 metres further, giving you 2 seconds of extra reaction time. Philips X-tremeVision boosts your visibility with up to 130% more light on the road. This helps you recognise obstacles and any potential dangers earlier than with any other halogen headlamp. Roll-over images for more info. 20% whiter light in your lamps The bright white light (3700 K) is up to 20% whiter than standard headlamps. The Philips patented gradient coating technologyTM produces a more powerful light. So you can enjoy the brightest lighting performance and a highly comfortable night driving experience. Extra light, extra lifetime Philips X-tremeVision headlights are made for ultimate performance, producing up to 130% brighter light, without compromising on the lifetime. At up to 450 hours*, Philips X-tremeVision's lifetime is significantly longer than competitor solutions in the more light category. (*H4 and H7 tested at 13.2-V standard voltage). The brightest bulb available With their optimised high-precision filament geometry, up to 13-bar high-pressure gas filling, high-precision coating and high-quality UV-Quartz glass, Philips X-tremeVision headlights set a new milestone in automotive lighting. They are engineered for the ultimate performance and uncompromising visibility. Why Choose Philips Lights? It’s important to change lamps in pairs The filament of older headlamps will break sooner At the end of their life, lamps project less light, thereby reducing visibility It’s faster, easier and cheaper to change both headlamps, rather than just one Choosing original equipment bulbs reduces the chance of early failure thanks to their higher quality standards Car manufacturers' choice Today, one in two cars in Europe and one in three worldwide is equipped with Philips lighting. ECE homologation Philips Automotive is dedicated to producing best-in-class products and services in the Original Equipment Manufacturer market as well as in aftermarket. Our products are manufactured from high-quality materials and tested to the highest specifications to maximise the safety and driving comfort of our customers. Our entire production is meticulously tested, controlled and certified (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and QSO 9000) to the highest ECE requirements. High-quality quartz glass UV-Quartz glass is stronger than hard glass and highly resistant to temperature extremes and vibrations, which eliminates the risk of explosion. Philips quartz-glass lamps (filament 2 650º C and glass 800º C) are able to withstand severe thermal shock. With the capability of increased pressure inside the lamp, UV-quartz glass is able to produce a more powerful light.

Review: Take care!! It really does matter which way up you fit them! - I've used these for 3 months now, and would say they are a slight upgrade on the factory fitted bulbs they replaced. The beam is certainly good, casting light a fair way into the distance, and we have noticed they are brighter than the originals, but it's hard to quantify if they are really 30% brighter. In terms of the quality of light, they are a good match to the originals, and do not have the blinding effect on other drivers that some of the blue/whiter high powered xenon or LED bulbs seem to have. In my book that's good news, so I'd recommend these as a solid replacement for blown factory fitted bulbs, or an upgrade/replacement for aged or underperforming bulbs. UPDATE: Having been pleased, but underwhelmed by fitting these, I noticed that one was apparently brighter than the other. Over the weekend I removed the less bright one took careful note of the direction of the filament in the bulb, and made sure I placed it so that the filament itself was at the top when fitted (which in the case of these bulbs meant that the indented “tab” was facing downwards). Instantly the situation improved to make each bulb equally bright, and the beam in front of the road suddenly lengthened & brightened considerably. I can now say there is a definite & significant improvement in the road illumination over the previous factory fitted bulbs, and I’ve changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. Hope this has been helpful if it prevents you making the same mistake I did. UPDATE 2: - Last weekend, another driver of a similar car to mine approached me asking how I had "tuned" my headlights to be so much better than his :) ...so, must be noticeably different to other drivers as well as me.
Review: Excellent and worth every penny - I've been using Philips X-Treme Power H1 for the high/ main beam and H7 for the low/ dipped beambulbs for several years since I saw them get the first of several rave test reviews in Auto Express. PROS They are bright, white and more accurately focussed or controlled than any other bulb I have used. I don't get 'flashed' by oncoming vehicles which I did with less accurately controlled bulbs. My experience has been that they have a long life - certainly as good or better than a good quality conventional bulb. I had my first one burn out a few weeks ago after being used for about 50,000 miles/ 4 years. I bought a reputable branded replacement from a very well known national chain of Autocentres but could immediately see that that, the replacement bulb did not focus and project the light as sharply as the X-Treme Power. CONS Not as cheap as an inferior bulb - but that extra cost gives extra safety and makes night time driving a touch easier.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the colour of the light it produces, I mean white or like normal halogen?**
A: HiThe Philips xtreme vision 130 bulb is a bit whiter than a standard halogen but is mainly designed to put more light on the road, if you are more interested in a whiter light then you need a bulb that has a blue coating on it, these will bulbs however will not give the same amount of light on the road as the Philips xtreme vision 130, Philips blue coated road legal bulbs are called white vision, they do a bulb called Diamond vision and crystal vision but these bulbs are not road legal.

**Q: Would these fit a 2012 skoda fabia?**
A: Hi,We've entered your car details into our database and our results show that you require an H4 bulb. This bulb will then work for both your dipped and main beam.We would always recommend that you check the vehicle handbook for the fitting details, as this will have the most up to date information in there.Kind Regards,Upgrade Bulbs

**Q: Do these bulbs come with a warranty? How long should they last? We've had ours since the end of January and they've both blown,**
A: Hi Ian, Philips don't offer warranty on their bulbs. If you bought some and they've blown that quickly I would advise you contact your vendor and ask for a replacement rather than buy some more that could blow again. Having said that, we've never had a return with this new bulb type or the older 100% xtremevision, normally they're very good. Thanks, Martin

**Q: can this model 2972-XVS2 H7 X-Treme of philips fit my bmw f10 2011 (non xenon), as il make an order now?**
A: Yes, both your dipped beam and main beam use H7 bulbs. You should look in the manual as it will tell you every type pf bulb and how to remove them.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good performance and lifespan- 50k+ miles in 3 years
*by W***C on 4 December 2015*

These are about as good as an incandescent bulb can get and not much behind more expensive +150% bulbs. I changed from the Philips Vision Plus (plus 50%) which I had used in previous car 2008-2013. They match the Osram Nightbreaker Plus H7s in the dip beam very well. The colour and output is very good in range and spread. They are definitely needed in these nights when many cars have HIDs and newer cars have LED or laser light generators now. A standard halogen bulb is now like a pre-halogen gas bulb was. This type of bulb often receives criticism for poor life. My experience is different. I get good life from bulbs yet voltage to the bulbs is typically just over 14.0 volts. My tips for good bulb life are simple. Install carefully using either kitchen roll or nitrile gloves to prevent finger printing the quartz glass. Install correctly. If the bulb contacts it's holder correctly, more heat is dissipated into the reflector. Not only that, a good beam image is assured. Switch lights on and off as required. Do not rely on auto on and off function. The reason is even a soft start alternator can create a voltage spike at switch-off. This hugely reduces bulb life to a few weeks from what I've witnessed from others (clots). They are so good, I have no intention of converting to a dubious aftermarket HID kit which will likely produce a substandard beam image and cause dazzle. In fairness, the upgrade is more like half of what is claimed (+130% looks more like +65% to me). Of course, I only trust OE manufacturers to ensure correct geometry and lasting quality. I've seen the results which cheap varieties can produce. They may be bettered by very bright LEDs (of dubious legality and often beam image) which need to be bright due to narrow waveband of LED light but they can at least defrost/melt snow from the headlamp lenses in very cold weather.
