Would it remove holograms also by any chance?** A: Most waxes to some degree will hide swirl marks, paste waxes especially. However my husband tells me that to truly get rid of swirl marks you will need to use a machine polisher along with some polish - he uses a Meguiar's polish. If you are not experienced he suggests a dual action polisher along with some Meguiar's polish. Once you apply the polish with the dual action polisher and remove it with a microfibre towel you should see all but the deepest scratches gone. Assuming you have already washed & dried your car properly and removed any environmental contaminants the last step before applying the wax would be to spray a mix of 50% isopropyl alcohol + 50% distilled water and dry with get more microfiber towels. They also sell various preface panel wipes. Once you have done this your car is truly clean, right down to the clearcoat if you have one. At this point you could apply a carnival based wax which will last 2-4 months, a synthetic paint sealant that will last from 6-12 months or you could apply a ceramic coating which a good one will last between 3-9 years. In the past I have used the standard wax products, but having got a new car, I thought I would give it a lash, and boy was I glad I did. after waxing the car, which was surprisingly easy, i had to go to Aberdeen, a round trip of over 300 miles, on roads completely saturated with salt and soaking wet, spray all the way. I couldn't wash the car for a few days after i came back and when i finally had time and daylight. I hosed the car down and started washing it with the Meguiars shampoo, and the dirt simply ran off the car and hardly needed any washing at all, to be honest the wax was almost like a Teflon non-stick coating , and the hose removed about 95% of the dirt before I started washing it. That is now about a month of salt ridden driving in the Highlands now, and the beads of water are still really small and perfect. on the other hand, I waxed my works new van with another leading wax last Friday and although its still beading, they are no where near as good as the Zafira a month later! I sadly weighed the bottle before starting and again after, and used about 30g to wax my Zafira, so all in all its not really expensive, at less than £1.00 a time.
