If you add hot water, you've made an americano, with milk too, a regular cup of white coffee. I'd buy the 3 cup pot and that gives 4.5 to 5ml strong coffee. You can still use it to make for one by adding less water/coffee...better still, I also have bigger capacity pots, for serving to 3 or 4 guests. **Q: dose it work on a electric hob** A: yes, I have an electric cooker.
