We recommend 250g to be added to a body bath to replenish the body with this essential mineral. Transdermal magnesium is an effective and convenient alternative to tablets. When applied to the skin the mineral commences absorption into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. The 1kg bag is our most popular size. Which is the better route to greater mag absorbtion?** A: Hi we were told by a physiotherapist that magnesium chloride is best absorbed by the skin. You can make your own solution up by using one cup of magnesium flakes and one cup of cooled boiled water, still hot enough to dissolve the magnesium flakes, Store the solution in a spray bottle and spray your body with about 10 ~14 short bursts after a shower or bath, it can sting just a little but that is o.k. This way is much more economical than using 250 grams in your bath, I have found that it has helped me with my insomnia. Remember that you only absorb about 4% of the magnesium in tablets and they use magnesium oxide which is cheap and not much good according to my chemist. Hope this helps. **Q: tofu** A: From their website:"Our Magnesium Flakes, Magnesium Oil Original spray and Magnesium Soak are all perfectly safe to ingest. The purity of our source actually makes them all pharmaceutical grade products. They are safe for human consumption and are actually used in organic baby food as an alternative to sodium chloride." **Q: How much magnetism fakes to hot water to make the oil for spray bottle? Many thanks** A: I use a ratio of 1 part flakes to 3 parts water. Eg measure out 300ml of cold distilled water (distilled preferably, as lasts almost indefinitely) or filtered water. Measure out 100g of flakes, add to water, stir for about half a minute or until flakes are completely dissolved, and bottle. The approximate equivalent of 1 x 5ml teaspoon is about the equivalent to 200mg of magnesium, which is approximately half a daily recommended dose when taken internally, but as you could expect to absorb it better through the skin, this may be all you need. **Q: Can you use in an ice bath** A: They can be used in and ice bath but absorption would be slowed due to the pores of the skin closing. The optimal absorption is achieved in a warm bath as pores will be relaxed and open. ## Frequently Bought Together - BetterYou Magnesium Mineral Bath Flakes - Mineral Bath Salts with Magnesium Chloride - Foot Bath or Body Bath Soak - Safe On Sensitive Skin - 2.3 lb - BetterYou Magnesium Oil Body Spray - Supports Natural Muscle Recovery and Function - Helps Your Skin Soak in Calcium - Effective Absorption for Strong Bones with Great Flexibility - 3.38 oz - BetterYou Magnesium Body Lotion - Body Cream with Magnesium And Shea Butter - Softens Skin, Relaxes Muscles - Nourishing And Lightweight - 6.08 oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/47942817-betteryou-magnesium-bath-flakes-pure-source-bath-salts-muscle-soak](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/47942817-betteryou-magnesium-bath-flakes-pure-source-bath-salts-muscle-soak) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-11-03*
