Review: Good Upgrade - Fits Sovol SV06 Plus Y-Axis - Installed on the Y-Axis of a Sovol SV06 Plus. (Older Standard version, not the new ACE or anything). Install went fine, but I assumed based on the provided wire guide and the diagrams on Sovol3d github, that I would for sure need to alter the wiring between the OEM and this one... I was wrong... I should have just tried it, spent probably the better part of 2 hours playing with the pinouts, before I set it back to Standard, and just tried it again, and everything is working wonderfully. So far noise level is seems quieter then OEM, but really just seems like it doesnt have a resonance issue that I had when trying some faster print speeds. It is not absolutely silent(when moving at speed), but its is quieter, and seems smoother. I am testing it further with some faster print speeds that had caused noise in the past. Will update if there are any issues. A LOT of info suggests that the Sovol SV06 + uses this size stepper for the Y axis by default, I dont know if I got a model that was an older spec, or what, but the actual original motor is smaller, but this on fits and works just fine, no issues at all.
Review: Predictable, removable signal cable, consistent quality - I purchased a set of three Nema 17-48mm motors (the larger size) for my homebrew printer. My printer is fairly large, and so initially I wanted to use these on the X and Y axis... for yucks sake, I installed it on the head for a direct extrusion setup. While the 48mm motor was HUGE for the direct extrusion and an overkill, it did a good job there. Eventually though I moved the 48mm motors to the X and Y axis. I wanted to also use it for my Z axis but the 48mm motor proved a little too tall for the way my X axis arm bracket was setup so I skipped it. Now to the motor itself: Quality: they appear to be commodity (in other words, I've seen different brands that look identical to these), but they're clean, nicely machined and they work. Application: I used them in my 12V setup, using up to 1A of power. All appears to have functioned well and there is no layer skipping. Thermals: At 1A drive+0.7A hold, the motor did get noticeably warm. When I lowered the hold power to 0.5A this seems to have dissipated. Anyways... I use them... the price was good... and they're running like a champ. Safe buy!
