May need an addition can if gate particularly large but I've found that this spray will adhere to most things, provided they are oil and grease free. Will I need to prime the area before applying?** A: Hello That's a good questionI would recommend using a primer as this type of spray may not adhere to metal surfaces, even if it already has been painted previously? It was used as the undercoat for cellulose top coat and gave a vey good finish. I purchased 6 tins, exceptional value with free postage, as it is £5.99 per tin in my local car spares shop.
