MasterCast is a two part epoxy resin with an easy 1:1 mix ratio by volume. The resin self levels to form a perfectly flat and shiny finish. Once cured, MasterCast provides a clear art coating resin that won't shrink or distort over time. It can be applied by pouring or by brush/roller and cures at ambient temperature. MasterCast 1-2-1 Clear Art Coating Resin has been ASTM certified non-hazardous and non-toxic, it utilises the most up to date UV inhibitors/blockers. It has excellent UV resistance, clarity and transparency making the resin system particularly suitable for the protection and decoration of: paintings, artwork, sculptures, badges, photos or just about any creative project. Please be advised although our resins are U.V stabilised this does not mean they are U.V proof. Ultimately all our clear epoxy resins will show signs of U.V degradation over time. I recommend to watch some Youtube videos and pay attention to temperature, absence of moisture and using a heat gun to get the bubbles out, and to be aware that it takes quite some time to set. When it does, it is extremely glossy, extremely strong and gives a real WOW to the finished painting. I have tried a big range of other types of "crystal clear" liquid plastics products in the past, and this one was more user-friendly, behaved better, smelled less and the results were better, too. I would add that because of the possibility of sealing artworks with this substance, I am re-vising different media I had previously discarded/discounted because they don't wear well. I have confidence that using the MasterCast product all manner of possibilities can be made real. Good product indeed. Very impressed. I need something which will go gloopy after a while so I can stir it again and create a sculpture** A: Hi Sarah, Yes it will start thicken ( 30-45 mins after mixing ) then it becomes stringy, then like gel before hardening completely after 6-8 hours. **Q: How heat resistant is this product as a make coasters** A: I haven’t used this resin for coasters however, Elichem (makers of Master Cast 1-2-1) do make a resin that is heat resistant to 95C. **Q: Hi...
