The touch and feel is similar to silicone, if you take a drop of it on your finger and rub it, the finger surfaces are absolutely dry just like a silicone test, which also tells you there is nothing oil-based component in it. Not sure at this time if it is any better than good old silicone that I've been using on my same trucks for last 20 years. BTW, I apply some of it on my new tools I buy and also for lubrication of O-rings since its safe for rubber and plastics.
