After the first 1 or 2 times it's virtually painless.I will give you some advice as to how you should go about doing it to make it as easy and pain free as possible. The hairs in the centre of your nose (the middle part that separates your nostrils), are most sensitive... as well as the hairs that are directly above your "moustache"... so make sure the "epilator's guard" is against those, so that they don't get plucked (you can pluck them later, once your nose has got used to the epilator). But the rest of the hairs (i.e. attached to the front of your nose) are less sensitive, so start with plucking those. Only pluck a little bit (maybe 1 or 2 minutes in each nostril) on your first time doing it. Then wait until the next day and do some more. Otherwise if you do your whole nose in one go then the next morning your nose will become very sore, it will feel like Muhammed Ali punched you in the face! Trust me I know because I was overly ambitious on my first time. My brother listened to my advice and took it day by day and he didn't get any soreness. I also took it easier since then and did it in smaller "batches" and it doesn't get sore.Another word of advice. My brother's nose was quite tight so the epilator sometimes wouldn't turn. I really am pleased to see good quality batteries included, even though this brand is cheaper than some of the others. There is a small brush which has dual purpose, both to clean out any bits and the bottom to open up the epilator, which is easy to do and opens immediately where a further battery is kept. I thought I would remove the fine hairs on my upper lip and until I stretched my skin, it was fairly painful. However, having used epilators on my legs for years, it does get easier and less painful as the hairs re grow. Shaving makes hairs stronger. Epilators make hair grow finer. I also did my eye brows which was not painful at all. So I suppose it hurts in places not done before. This product also has a brush that can be used to remove make up and is supposed to be more effective than normal removal. Purports to remove impurities that are pore deep? Anyway…. I have to warn that when you put the cap on and then take it off again the epilator stays in the cap and is quite difficult to remove. I have removed one star for that. The only solution I can find is not to push the cap on too tight. Despite all of that, I am going to say that I am very impressed with this. So many other products that are cheaper say they are epilators but are really shavers. This is a proper epilator. Update…. I had not tried the brush…. But I have now. I used my usual product to cleanse on this brush and turned it on…. I don’t like to admit I was wrong, but I must this time. The brush made my skin slightly pinkish as I was using it and I wasn’t pressing hard enough to do that. I was quite surprised at that.
