Product Description BURNSHIELD STERILE HYDROGEL BURN DRESSING Directions Clean the wound, apply the dressing, secure it in place. Avoid contact with eyes. Dispose of properly after use. Safety Warning IF SLIGHT IRRITATION OCCURS, RINSE WITH WATER AND DISCONTINUE USE; FLUSH WITH WATER FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 MINUTES. IF IRRITATION PRESISTS, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.; BURNSHIELD GEL IS COMPOSED MAINLY OF WATER AND IS A VERY LOW HEALTH RISK. A SLIGHT SKIN IRRITATION (SKIN REDDENING MAY BE OBSERVED IF PATIENT IS ALLERGIC TO THE BURNSHIELD GEL).

Review: Soothes and prevents blisters - I scalded my hand removing sth from the microwave. I knew straight away it was quite a nasty scald, so I ran it under the cold tap. Then I remembered we had this gel pack. I stopped the tap, and tore the top off the pack. Inside there is a bandage impregnated with gel. If I'd hurt an arm or a leg I'd have taken the bandage out, but as I'd hurt my fingers I just put my hand in the bag. It was now about 5 mins since the scald happened, and my fingers were just starting to hurt. But the pain stopped as soon as I put them in the gel. It was extremely cool and soothing. Also, when you're stuck by a tap you can't do much, and it's tempting to stop and hope the burn will be ok. But with my hand in the bag I could leave it there and do other stuff, so I kept it on for about 20 minutes. I was amazed when I took my hand out. The pain had stopped, and I had no visible burn and no blister, then or later. The scald was quite a bad one, so I was very impressed. It happened at work, so I immediately ordered some of these bags for my own kitchen.

**Q: Could anyone tell me if it's possible to cut these down for smaler burns? Thanks in advance.**
A: yes you could cut them down, however they will then not be sterile for future use.. best thing is to buy the bottled burn gel, then you can use it on sterilised gauze which you can buy in a smaller size, and its less expensive to do it this way.

**Q: how many in a box**
A: Just one now, Sept 2016.

**Q: What is the expiry date now please?**
A: The expiration date on the batch we're currently selling is 10/2021.

**Q: Can i use with antibiotic cream?**
A: Hi there, I'm not sure best ask a Pharmacist or Doctor, with respect to the goods it works fantastic, I have used just the cream from the pouch too applying a thick layer, it definitely works cooling down the burn. After using it I just clip on the food seal clip on and place in the fridge, nothing wasted and air tight. I hope my answer helped in other ways, its absolutely great on burns though, always apply a thick later. Bye.

Dealt with a kitchen fat burn on myself and a bonfire night sparkler burn on a child. Excellent bit of kit you can leave on and bandage to the wound for few hours to cool and reduce pain. Massively reduces scarring.
