I say insurance, because my wife was not able to breastfeed and we were not sure whether the formula milk contained all the nutrients that our baby needed. We tend to lay our baby down, insert the syringe in it's mouth whilst pointing the tip towards the cheek and then give it the contents. This way you are sure that the baby is taking all the contents, but also minimising the risk of choking. Obviously the suggestion of administration should not be taken without the consultation of a qualified health professional. We tasted the product ourselves and it's not the greatest tasting product ever, but our baby seems to be fine with it, opening it's mouth when it sees the syringe coming towards it and generally not fussing about the event.
