**Q: How is this latest version different from the last version released by Mattel? (Other than the box design)**
A: Only change I see is the box design (says ages 7+ instead of 5+ now)...instruction card might've changed too (old one mentioned a website that is now defunct & had the age listed as 5+ too).

**Q: What age child is this meant for?**
A: The original "Educational Insights" version, with the larger pieces says ages 5+.   My 5 year old grandson love the game and does really well at it.   I would recommend the "Blokus Deluxe (Amazon Version) as it looks yo have the bigger pieces.  Either way, you can not go wrong as this is a fun game for ALL ages.

**Q: How do the Blokus pieces get stored? The packaging looks like it's disposable.**
A: Package contains sealable bags, one for each of the four colored playing pieces.  The box is as durable as a typical board game box.  We played Blokus on Thanksgiving, and the box was fine.  While setting it up and putting it away, the box falling apart never entered my mind.  It is a convenient size and shape for storage.  Certainly, you could destroy the box like any other game box, buy you don't need to take extraordinary care of of it. Don't let your concern about the quality of the box discourage you from purchasing an enjoyable, easy-to-learn game for the whole family.

So much fun. Great game for picking up how to play fast but is enjoyable even if you have played it a few times. Best with 3 or 4 players. Love the fact you get reusable colour coded bags to keep the pieces in. The pieces are nice to play with- they look pretty and feel nice. Great quality and doesn’t take up loads of space.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great family game for all ages

Excellent concept for all ages. At a high level each player has the same shapes. The purpose of the game is to place as many shapes as possible. The winner is whomever has got the fewest left. Each player plays in turn starting from their own corner. You can only play if your shape joins a shape you played previously by its corner (as shown on the picture). Sounds simple ? Well not quite, very quickly the board becomes very crowded, and the skill is to put your shapes down so as to allow "a passage" through your opponents' shapes. The game can be played between 2 to 4 player (if fewer than 4 players participate, you either own 2 colours each (2 players), or play in turn the 4th colour (3 players) making it an even more strategic game when placing the 3rd colour !) This game can be adapted for all levels. As adults, it can become really competitive and you need to think very carefully your next move, to strike the right balance between blocking your opponents and developing your own game. We also played with our 4 year old who enjoys turning shapes around to work out which one to play next and where to put it down, giving him a better understanding of "space awareness". All in all a truly great game. We do enjoy playing a lot of games, and I must say this is one of the better ones I have seen ! Quite impressed overall. The shapes are in coloured plastic, so is the board game (white plastic). Initially I was slightly concerned by it (I am usually leaning towards more traditionally made wooden board games), but they seem well made, solid enough. No complaint in the end. Well worth it. Update: January 2016. Game still holding up (so really good quality !). The family still loves it. Excellent, highly recommended. Can be adapted for all ages ....
