Although it is clear it turned the white wood a beautiful honey colour which has lasted 6 months (ish) and still looks good. I have also used the wax on my ERCOL dinning furniture (which has a lacquer finish) to really good effect. The key to success is a little wax and lots of 'elbow grease'. **Q: I have used Briwax before (Rustic Pine) but I'm after something to simply enhance the wood grain rather than stain.Does clear have that effect at all?** A: I had some oak shelves made recently and use the clear Briwax on them, I used 3 coats at first and now just a coat every 6 weeks or so except for one shelf that gets more sun on it so it gets extra. Regards. **Q: I Bought a second-hand pine bed frame thats looking dirty and tired. Is the clear Briwax best to clean it up? Do I get the wire wool too or a cloth?** A: It depends on the finish you want. Briwax is a polish that puts a seal and shine on a finished surface so my advice would be to clean as much of the bed frame as you need using ordinary houshold cleaners to remove dust muck etc. Wire wool will also help remove any stubborn bits but use care as it can wear the top surface off if you scrub hard. Once you get the look you want then apply some wax to a small unseen spot and see if its the finish you want. Try wire wool and cloth to apply the wax and see which you prefer I have done both the wire wool gives a slightly more matt finish. For large surfaces I have seen a clean paint brush used to apply the wax!. Briwax clear will not add any colour to the wood but will bring out details that the untreated surface may not show.
