The nozzle gets right into your ear though and one pump is enough to deliver enough oil to do the job. It feels wet initially and as I was using it just before bed I used cotton wool to avoid it dripping onto my pillow. I was using it twice daily for a week before having wax removal performed and I found the nozzle excellent.
