This long reach brush is the ideal length. It allows me to scrub my back with ease. The boar bristles are quite stiff and some people might prefer a softer brush but I prefer this. The set comes with two small hand brushes - one with the boar bristles as the larger brush and the other is soft wool. These two hand brushes are for using on one's face. The bristle brush exfoliates (as does the large body brush) and the wool brush 'polishes' the skin. I have not really used the smaller brushes yet but like their big brother seem to be very well make.My only, slight, hesitation is that the large brush slot together and the head is held in place with an elastic band. In time I would imagine that the elastic band will eventually perish. As far as I can see there is no easy way to replace this.That slight niggle aside I can highly recommend this set of quality brushes.UPDATE: The hand grip of string wound tightly around the lower handle has come undone. I did not notice how it was tied so tightly that I could not rewind it and return it to the way it was originally. I tried to glue the string back onto the wooden handle but that did not work either so now I am using a slippery wooden bath brush.
