The trees were easy to assemble and the trees sprouted beautiful “foliage” in a relatively short time. They are fragile, though, and should be used near the place where they will be displayed. Review: A Huge Hit with My Grandkids – Fun and Educational - I purchased the National Geographic Craft Kit, and my grandkids absolutely loved it! From the moment we opened the box, they were excited to dive in and start creating. The instructions were easy to follow, and the projects were engaging enough to keep their attention from start to finish. What I really appreciate about this kit is that it’s not just fun—it’s educational too! My grandkids learned new facts and skills while making something they could proudly show off afterward. The materials were high-quality, colorful, and safe for kids to handle, which gave me peace of mind. We had such a great time working on these crafts together—it made for a wonderful bonding activity and sparked their curiosity about the world around them. I highly recommend this kit to anyone looking for a fun, hands-on project for kids! ## Features - GROW CRYSTAL COVERED TREES - Watch as crystals start to grow in minutes from the branches of the included evergreen, cherry, bonsai, and dragon blood trees like magic! I have seen them begin to flake off within days or remain in place for months, I am not sure if the amount of solution used makes the difference. If they flake off, you can gather them in the tray and sprinkle water on them to watch them grow again! **Q: What is the solution used exactly?** A: Potassium Phosphate Monobasic ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Young Children *by J***B on April 5, 2026* My 7 and 9 year olds had a lot of fun with this tree crystal set. The trees were easy to assemble and the trees sprouted beautiful “foliage” in a relatively short time. They are fragile, though, and should be used near the place where they will be displayed. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Huge Hit with My Grandkids – Fun and Educational *by M***E on August 4, 2025* I purchased the National Geographic Craft Kit, and my grandkids absolutely loved it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty cool!! *by E***H on February 1, 2024* I did not have high hopes after reading some of the reviews, but the whole family actually liked them! 2 kids, 2 parents and grandma each made one. You color a paper tree with markers. As you can see in the pictures, only the blue and purple markers really showed up. (Maybe try using other markers?) We did them around 8 p.m. The crystals started growing after about 45 minutes, and we were all surprised at how cool they were the next morning. I think one of the key things is to wet the tops of the trees with the crystal solution. As others have said, this is a throw away project - the crystals are not sturdy enough to keep. ## Frequently Bought Together - National Geographic Craft Kits for Kids - Crystal Growing Kit, Grow 6 Crystal Trees in Just 6 Hours, Educational Craft Kit with Art Supplies, Geode Specimen, STEM Arts & Crafts Kit (Amazon Exclusive) - NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Mega Crystal Growing Kit for Kids- Grow 6 Crystals with Light-Up Stand, Science Gifts for Kids 8-12, Crystal Making Experiment, Science Kit for Girls and Boys (Amazon Exclusive) - NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Break Open 10 Premium Geodes – Includes Goggles and 2 Display Stands - Great STEM Science Kit, Geology Gift for Kids, Break Your Own Geodes with Crystals, Toys for Boys and Girls --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/481252720-national-geographic-crystal-tree-growing-science-craft-kit-for-ages](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/481252720-national-geographic-crystal-tree-growing-science-craft-kit-for-ages) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
