It plugs into mains with a step down transformer which is supplied with it. We were very pleased with this. **Q: Has anyone else found this noisy? Im wondering if its broken or just the mechanism and thats normal?** A: It can be a little noisy, I had one that was noisy and lasted a couple of days so had to return it. New one is not quiet but it has been ok for two years. **Q: We have just purchased this, should it be in 2 parts, it works fine but the actual building is in two parts, it separates under the train track.** A: I recieved 10 days ago and it was I two parts. I thought it was broken and I send message to resend me a new. But finally they refunded me 20 euros to fix it. Love that you can haveon with light and no sound as lovely as the voice is I couldn't have it repeating all day ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely piece, and will certainly try to re-purchase, but arrived with many faults *by S***T on 26 March 2023* I loved the look of this piece, and will definitely try to buy it again at a reasonable price next year, as it has some lovely moving features, and is a good height and shape to add a bit of difference to a Lemax display. The clock faces aren’t functional, but instead little paper circles stuck to the tower. This is a poly resin piece rather than a porcelain one, but not one of the plasticky-looking ones. This also has a good combination of lights - with a mix of internal lighting and little external downlighters. The piece is powered by an (included) 4.5v mains adapter. Unfortunately I had to return the clock tower received from this order as it had multiple major faults. The sound unit appeared to have shaken loose in transit, was rattling about inside the tower and wasn’t working at all, and both the little sleigh and train that are supposed to go round the clock tower weren’t moving properly. These would go a tiny amount, then get stuck making horrible grinding noises and only move again after being given a little push, stick, grinding noises, repeat. Additionally one of the little resin Christmas trees had come unglued from the base.
