I got them on a Warehouse Deal so the six packets cost £10.06. I think normally they are a LOT more expensive (showing at around £30 for 6 packets for the other varieties with this one showing as unavailable as of 21 March 2018).This was a Warehouse Deal and much cheaper, the reason being that the packs were reaching their BBE March 2018. As this was a BBE and not a USE BY date I thought it would be a good way to try without shelling out more money.The packets are attractive. I would say that the instructions are fairly clear but the writing could be a bit bigger. There are 3 methods given, Bread Maker, Food Mixer and By Hand. So you have to keep referring back to the Food Mixer instructions if you are making By Hand.I made one of the loaves following the directions on the packet. I have made quite a lot of handmade bread in the past and it seemed to me that this did not rise all that well. It said to leave it for 1 hour in a warm place. This I did but it was not risen much. I left it another half an hour. Then knocked it back, put it in the pan and left it to rise again for the stated 30 mins. Not much change. I left it a further 15 mins. Still no change. Ho hum. So I baked it for the stated 30 mins. Took it out of the oven and tapped the bottom. Didn't sound 'hollow' so popped it back for another 10 mins. Still didn't sound hollow.OK I have to say that the bread tastes very good but it was extraordinarily dense and the centre was doughy. I had a look on the Jeam website and the photos of the bread there looked nicer and more risen than mine.I got in touch with Jeam the manufacturers who suggested I try again, following the instructions exactly and only allowing the stated 1 hour first risingand 30 minutes second rising before baking.I have just tried that and have managed to manufacture something which is even denser than the first one, I have attached a photo. It is very solid looking,The taste is fine and the colour is attractive. However I think it makes a passable house-brick. Or maybe Disc World Dwarf Battle Bread Not sure what to do with the other 4 packets. I may give them to others to try and see if they can do any better or if it is just me.Conclusion is that it was worth taking a punt on 6 packs for £10 (£1.50 a loaf) but I would hesitate to pay £30 for 6 (£5 a loaf)UPDATE 11 June 2018Have now used all the packs. It did get better, even though the packs were then well past their best before date.The last 3 have been really nice. Very dense still but very tasty.
