Review: Great for two small cats, where we go away most weekends! - I bought two of these timer feeders for my cats when I go away for short periods. The ice packs are a great addition, however are very skinny so I am unsure if they actually keep the food chilled for anything longer than 2 hours (easily defrost at room temperature). The bowls are easy to remove and clean and sit ontop of the ice packs. The lid comes down and the timer is set to 0 before setting the timer count down ... which is any time from 0 to 48 hours. The timer then ticks along nicely until it reaches 0 and the lid springs open. The lid does not fit snugly down onto the bowl and when I first laid it I anticipated my cat to break into it to retrieve the food ... however this has still not happened so its working perfectly! I have had one occassion when neither side of the timer feeder opened, however I do wonder if that was the fault of the feeder or human error. A great piece of kit for people who go away at weekends!
Review: Does the job, quite good value - I ordered this to replace an old CatMate dispenser which finally gave out after several years of use. This dispenser arrived quite quickly (I used desertcart Prime delivery) and is really straightforward to use. I've used this several times (including testing it before going away) and have had no problems with it opening on time. My two cats prefer dry food so I haven't used the freezer packs, but it is very easy to take apart and clean. They usually eat out of a twin bowl so don't have problems sharing a bowl, but you could also set the two bowls to go off at different times over 48 hours if you only have one cat, or have two cats who get too hangry to leave with only one meal each over 24 hours. I'm not a huge fan of the speckled white "pebble" effect pattern on the lids but that's just personal preference. The only thing to note is that it doesn't come with batteries, so make sure you have a couple of AA batteries to hand. When I'm not using mine I take the batteries out (as otherwise the timer keeps ticking even if it's not set) and store them with the freezer packs under the lids. Would recommend

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Instructions mainly in foreign languages. How do you open the lids? I have just unpacked this but neither compartment will open!!!**
A: I thought there was only one lid on ours. Turn the time wheel slowly by hand until reacing the arrow when the lid will pop up! Put food in tray, turn a little again to lock then finally turn to set the time delay according to your choice. Our puss used to sit at the side of the feeder waiting for it to open! Regards, Terry

**Q: The timer isn't working on my automatic cat feeder I've set the timer but nothing happens I have battery's in it can you please help**
A: Not sure how you are trying to do the timer. I had a problem t start with. It works like a kitchen timer if you want it to open in 12 hours time then set it at 12 not the actual time in 12 hours time. If the whole thing is not moving around during the day then it sounds faulty. Good luck.

**Q: Will a standard size tin of cat food fit in each of the compartments. Trying to compare products for sizing but can't compare ml and grams.**
A: I would say so, however I don't think wet food would be appropriate as it would spoil? One tin would fit in each but would be quite full.

**Q: My cats are very intelligent and have been able to open feeders in the past, would they be able to open this one?**
A: I bought it for my rabbit and he figured out that he could twist the dial on the front until it eventually opened so if they have managed in the past it's quite possible they might with this one! Hope that helps

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent product, needs more finesse
*by J***S on 29 January 2019*

I bought this as I’m a shift worker and I wanted to make sure my cat was getting fed on time if I was kept late. The packaging was reasonable for the product, and the directions for use were very clear. It’s a fairly simple concept - there is an internal food tray with space for an ice pack (included) underneath to maintain freshness. You fill the dish with food, close the lid and set the rotary timer. When it reaches 0, the lid opens to reveal the food. Having tested the product without issue, I’m fairly happy that it will achieve what I want however, there are a few things which I feel would need to be improved for a 5 star review. The unit takes 2xAA batteries (not included). I don’t understand why this is the case, as it appears that the timer dial works exactly the same way as my clockwork kitchen timer. Given that it can be set for up to 48 hours, I’m concerned that the batteries will fail and my cat will go hungry. As stated above, the rotary timer can be set for up to 48 hours in advance. When the timer reaches 0, a notch in the timer allows the lip of the spring-loaded lid to be released. Given the small size of the dials, it’s only accurate to +/- 30 mins or so. The bowls tick very loudly, even when the timer is not set. At night, this is very annoying. Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase however, room for improvement.
