The fitting for the snaps is only for one size and the setter is suitable for round snaps. Any specially shaped prym love snaps require a different shaped setter, which isn't so expensive. Kam snaps do come in much greater variety than prym but this tool is less hard work to use, requires minimum pressure to set the snaps and with this model you can attatch the metal fastenings AND plastic snaps too. You can see in the packets that the necessary attachments are included. I am extremely pleased with my pliers, they make fixing fasteners so easy. I bought a box of cam snaps but the tool which came with them was so flimsy and hard to get a grip on. My Vario pliers make applying the cam snaps and other Prym fasteners so much easier. I am glad I bought them, they are so versatile. Don't take any notice of those who say they won't work, they will. I was nearly put off because of that but they must be misinformed. The only thing I would say is that the instructions aren't all that clear but I looked on You Tube and there are lots of videos to go through how to use them. That is what I did. **Q: Do I need an extra fitting for the metal fasteners? I've only got one white anvil and the metal studs aren't fitting.** A: Yes you do.
