Review: 32 Gig (2 Sets of 8x2 kits) in Dual Channel. Highly Recommended - Review: 26.10.20. I have two sets of the 8x2 kits . I've read some reviews and they state they can't get 3200 Mhz XMP that is probably because they haven't enabled dual channel mode. This is why you should always read the manual. As I'm using a R7 2700X on a Aorus Elite X570 (Rev 1.0). The following step is for AM4 boards only: Ram MUST be added in this order: A2 (always first), B2, A1, B1 (see uploaded image). I bought the first kit last year (6th October 2019) and the second kit this year (3rd Jun 2020) along with 2 other kits - 1 has been used in a B450 Mortar Max Build for a relative. The other I have kept as both a spare and upgrade kit for aforesaid relative - All 4 kits are the exact same. I have run the RAM on XMP at 3200 Mhz on a single set of 8x2 without any issues hence 3 more subsequent purchases of the exact same kit and version number. XMP always set the ram 1.35 volts and with the +0.030 it ends up at 1.380 volts... much too higher for my liking. The kits I've got - the two sets I've used have the same behaviour - perfectly happy at 1.280 volts. But using the XMP profile puts the ram at 1.35 volts and the motherboard adds a plus offset of 0.030 volts. So the ram ends up fluctuating between 1.38 volts and 1.35 volts, 99.9% of the time stuck 1.38 volts.. a tad too high for my liking as I plan to keep these RAM kits for a loooong time. Given that the memory controller is on the CPU and the infinity fabric is tied to the memory controller on Zen + (Plus Zen + CPUs are poor overclockers compared to Zen 2) I had to settle for 2733 Mhz with 4 x 8 (with a little loose timings) and any higher I will have to reduce the overclock the CPU or increase the voltage on the CPU and RAM to avoid memory errors. Additionally, any higher than 2933 Mhz on 4 sticks the latency penalty is quite noticeable, on 2 sticks is there is hardly any which is why it's always recommended to use XMP on two sticks. Additionally the RAM is also currently undervolted to 1.290 volts with a motherboard offset of +0.030 volts / -0.054 (this cannot be adjusted). On reduced loads motherboard drops it down to 1.236 volts (lowest I've seen). The R7 2700X is overclocked to 4050 All Core with a drastic undervolt, this gives both thermal headroom for sustained loads and very low idle temps with the Artic Freezer 34 Esports (single fan) - see hwinfo (current ambient temp 24.7 degrees celsius). Additionally, my room becomes too hot with stock or higher voltage and given last summer was extremely hot... You may wondering why is CPU VDDP18 is at 1.6 - that is the lowest I can set it in the BIOS and PM_1V8 at 1.6 volts, that is the lowest I can set without needing to clear the BIOS (default for both settings is 1.8 volts and that's perfectly normal apparently from what I found looking for the information I've come across on the web). I can overclock it higher but the ultimately the performance difference is not all that and there are stability issues albeit very few and far in between crashes but they are crashes never the less (see Cinebench results). During the past year of getting my PC to a point in terms of stability and peformance I have seen some bizzare things lol... See the last two screenshots. The motherboard automagically overclocked the CPU to 4261.89 and the ram to 3253 roflmao... I've seen this happen several times and I only had a usb stick plugged on two occassions hence only two screenshots. Yes, I'm aware I could have saved some money by getting slower sticks than 3200 and sticking them at 2733 and gotten tighter timings. For me that would be a waste of money as I plan to upgrade to Zen 2 or Zen 3 in the future and when I did I'd have have 32 gigs of ram lying around without much use as by then DDR5 will be out and there would be effectively zero demand for low speed DDR4s. So I'd be better off getting decent kits that can overclock decently and last me two or three CPU generations. All in all, these are decent kits - highly recommended.

**Q: Why does it say DDR3 2400 in the ram memory technology area and if that isn't a mistake, what does that mean vs "DDR 400"?**
A: Its  not a typo. RAM can only run at 2400 speed unless your cpu is capable of handling overclocked RAM. Which 3200 speed RAM is indeed, factory-overclocked. When you install the RAM, you need to enable the XMP RAM feature in the bios in order to run at 3200. Otherwise, it will run at 2400 like normal RAM. So before purchasing this, you need to make sure that your motherboard will support 3200 RAM (which means that you will have the option to enable XMP in the bios) and of course, that your CPU can too.

**Q: Anyone using with a ryzen 5 1600?  what speeds can you get with this?  putting together a gaming pc with my son - have an asus rog b350 mobo.**
A: I have the same motherboard. asus ROG strix motherboard b350-f right?
I recently had downloaded the most recent bios to be released for the motherboard and when my ddr4 3600mhz cl18 2x16gb (32gb total) showed up only 18 hours after I clicked place order btw, i turned off pc, cleared CMOS, took out my old ram after unplugging the pc's power unit and waiting 30 seconds, then put in the new sticks.  Only two dims, dual channel (cause that is the best) and it worked out of the box, just setting the docp profile to be selected..
BUT
I use a 3800XT on my b350-f mobo, and again it has the MOST RECENT BIOS FLASH.  So i am not sure that FIRST GEN Ryzen is going to cut it.  on my 1700, on this same motherboard i could NEVER get above 3000mhz and that was with a lot of custom fiddling 
so yes it works with at least the 3800xt ryzen chip, which is the same socket as the first gen of ryzen, so just update via secondhand or FB marketplace and buy a 3800xt
(why the XT variant?   Good Question, well that 3800XT is the only variant of desktop cpu's that have the name sake of the 3000 series chips, but actually has an architecture MUCH closer to the 5000. 
Mine boost as high as 4.95ghz. first time ive seen a ryzen cpu report a core hitting that close to 5ghz 
the 3000 series chips will not boost that high... no matter what

**Q: Can you mix c18 and c16 of the same corsair ram ? can you make them identical in bios?**
A: You can mix speeds, but it's not recommended.  As another said the system will try to run your memory at the speed of the slowest RAM.

Yes you can change BIOS setting to make both RAM kits set to the same timings, and that usually means setting the tertiary timings as well, to make them the same, so they are matched identically.  Of course both kits have to accept those timings.  This is probably the best method when mixing kits.  So, set the slowest kit first to where it's stable, and that means also running memory tests, then add the second kit and match the timings.  And yes this means you're making them identical in BIOS.  The CPU and MB also play a factor in all this, and to me it sounds like you're making this a system with 4 sticks.  If you're getting the CPU at the border of its capability with 3600 memory (too much for Zen, Zen+, borderline for Zen2, Zen 3) you'll probably have to boost the memory controller voltage a tiny bit, and watch some video, look at what's suggested when trying to run 4 sticks at such a high speed.

**Q: Can I overclock these to 3200mhz on a asus b350 plus/ ryzen 1700? I have tried and all I get is the stock 2133mhz running dual channel.**
A: I was able to overclock these up to 3200 MHz and run windows and games BUT it’s not very stable, many errors, but I was able to overclock stably at 2933mhz at 1.39v , was afraid to turn the voltage any higher and burn them out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ryzen 3000 series and this ram works as intended after a bios update

Update 2: After updating the bios in my Aorus X570 Pro I managed to attain the advertised speed of 3200Mhz so bumping this review up to 5 stars. Update: not sure if I'm just unlucky or these don't last long but now it can't reach 3000MHz anymore, I've now got it at 2933MHz. Original but now irrelevant Review: Tl:Dr it runs stable at 3000MHz on a X570 + Ryzen 3000 series processor, can't reach 3200MHz. So let's just say, I planned to get myself the new Ryzen 7 3700X so I ordered my sticks of Ram in advance (incase they get sold out on release of these super hyped processors) and had my wallet ready for the launch as well as a new X570 board (my previous pc setup included ddr3 ram and therefore I needed an upgrade). After getting everything in, enabling XMP which set it automatically to a 3200MHz profile, I was met with a black screen for a good 3-5 minutes, staring at the LEDs of my motherboard which kept having it stuck on the ddr4 step of the boot cycle. After a few attempts it booted, but the bios had reset itself and disabled XMP and therefore the Ram was clocked at 2133MHz. I tried multiple times to get it to run the XMP profile but alas, things had started to look a bit dire. I had then tried searching up about the issue, was met with mentions that ryzen doesn't support certain ram dies and its recommended to go for those with Samsung die that generally had a rating of cl14. Things took a turn for the worst, I started panicking on how to get a refund and where to get a stick of ram thats recommended for my ryzen setup. Eventually I came across a video on memory overclocking, it told me XMP was basically overclocking. It helped me out, I managed to get my sticks of ram up to 3000MHz but no matter what I did 3200MHz just would result in my system getting stuck in the boot cycle, so in the end I just settled for the 3000MHz (it's a noticeable increase in performance and benchmarking in time spy on 3dmark had a cpu score of 8600(2133MHz) to 9400(3000MHz) so for this price point I would say its worth it, there may be better options out there but this stick of ram is literally everywhere and is pretty cheap so I would class this as an OK product.
