The battery is a thin rectangular Lithium-Ion affair, much like you get in mobile phones except it has two wires coming out of it which have a small white plastic plug on the end. This plugs in to a socket on the radio's circuit board. So the battery could certainly be easily replaced by a Sony dealer. To do the work yourself you'd have to find a suitable replacement battery (Lithium-ion, the correct dimensions to fit in the case, the correct plug on the end of the wires, maybe even the same capacity of 1300 mAh (milliamp-hours)) then you could unplug the old battery and plug in the new one. No soldering necessary. I didn't actually try to remove the battery from my radio so I can't say if there are any hidden complications like it being glued in position. Probably best to get it done by a Sony dealer really. **Q: Does it have a wake up alarm** A: Hi Long time customer, No, this radio doesn't have a wake-up timer, but it has a Sleep Timer with the following time options: (60/45/30/15/OFF) **Q: Does the headphones act as an arial** A: Nope, it's got it's own pull out arial and finds all stations available from your local mast **Q: Hi bought this in april and the switch has fallen off! How do i get it replaced?** A: Great radio. Poor flimsy switch. I had the same problem. A friend repaired mine. Not sure if you can buy a spare switch.
