### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Magnet therapy- science fiction or science fact? A 7 day case study.
*by M***E on 10 April 2015*

This is the first review I've ever done for something I've bought but felt I should share my experience with other would-be purchasers. Let me set the scene. I'm a 45 year old woman- supposedly in my prime- but over the last few years I've noticed the ageing process catching up with me- namely greying hair, wrinkles, the gradual descent of various bits of my anatomy southwards and joints which ached, creaked and popped alarmingly the chief culprits being my left knee and lower back. But the worst part of the ageing process for me has been the gradual shortening of my arms.Do I detect your doubt at this statement? What other explanation can there be for the increasing difficulty I encountered putting on my socks? I remember a time I would simply lean over, raise a foot and effortlessly glide the sock onto my foot. Then one morning when I tried to do this my arms no longer reached far enough. It appeared that my arms had shrunk overnight. Ever resourceful I adopted an alternative approach by sitting on the bed raising my leg into a bent position so my foreshortened arms could reach my foot. Sock success! I convinced myself this was normal. Then a week ago my arms shrank again and I could no longer reach my foot at all. No amount of reaching or stretching made any difference. My options seemed clear- go sockless for the rest of my life or invest in a sock grabber. I got as far as investigating a sock grabber on the internet but the promotional pictures of happy pensioners put me right off.I was at a loss of what to do until a friend suggested my issue was not my short arms but rather my stiff back. She recommended I try magnetic therapy. Can you imagine how I scoffed? Magnets? What possible good would a magnet do? I'm a scientist and therefore instantly disbelieve anything which cannot be explained by scientific fact. I have read nothing to date which has convinced me that magnetic therapy was not in the same category as faith healers and snake oil. But this sock problem was causing me grief so put my Scientific Brain on hold and stumped up twenty new pounds for a “Beautiful Ladies classic silver magnetic bracelet with 11 white crystals”. I’ll freely admit it was the crystals which sold it to me rather than the magnetic properties. I then decided that once it arrived I would conduct a case study (n=1) over a 7 day period to see if I experienced any benefits from wearing it.Day one: The postman brought me a package and it contained the bracelet in a tasteful velvet box. I put it on. I was actually very pleasantly surprised by how nice the bracelet looked-very sparkly. I thought “At worst I'll still be sockless but at least I have a nice bit of costume jewellery to draw attention from my bare feet”. I wore it all day and overnight and nothing remarkable happened.Day two: After my morning ablutions I put the bracelet back on and attempted to wear my socks. My arms were still too short. No miracle overnight cure had resulted. I was momentarily disappointed until I remembered I had never believed for one second it was going to work anyway and felt smug. I solved the daily sock problem by convincing my husband that putting my socks on for me was a demonstration of true love.Day three: Still no progress on the sock front. As it was a Bank Holiday the husband, the dog and 1 went on a 4 hour hike up a hill which to be honest was nothing new. It would also appear that getting ones husband to put on ones socks was also no longer new. What was new however was that evening when my left knee would normally been berating me for being so stupid to think I could trudge UP and then DOWN a hill on a knee with no cruciate ligament and half its meniscus gone, the said knee was silent. No pain. No creaking or popping. Just a slight ‘warm’ feeling. Interesting but still not enough to convince me it was down to the bracelet. Coincidence obviously.Day four: No overnight arm growth unfortunately but fortunately also no knee pain. The lack of knee pain was unusual and the “warm” feeling in my knee of the night before had also gone. Perhaps I had imagined the hike. It was the only rational explanation. Thankfully it was a warm day so I wore my flat pumps and didn’t have to engage the services of my ‘registered carer’ for sock duties.Day five: Arm success! Well let me qualify that statement, right arm success, left arm failure. I managed to put on my right sock all by myself! Let’s just not mention the left sock. I told my husband that wearing one sock might become trendy. He said people didn’t say ‘trendy’ anymore and all I was showing was my age. For the purposes of full transparency I should note here that I had been wearing the bracelet on my right wrist for the whole period of this case study. Coincidence?Day six: No improvement in the length of my left arm so I have no option but to carry on with the one sock look which I believe will become BANG ON TREND (boo sucks husband!). Putting on the right sock was even easier than it had been the day before and although I am loathed to admit it I did appear to be far more flexible than on day one. Later that day we did another 5 hour hike up a hill and neither knee protested before, during or after.Day seven: The day of reckoning AKA Sockgate. I was amazed to discover I could put on my right sock while standing up! It had been a good 6 months since that was possible. Left sock standing up was still a definite no no. Left sock sitting down? YYYYEEEESSSS!!!!!! My arm reached!!! I put my actual socks on myself! Both of them! The bliss of not having to depend on someone to help me dress. And I had no pain from my knee after the previous day’s walk.So to sum up- I still don’t understand how magnets work and I still don’t really believe they do. However, I have to admit that since wearing the bracelet I have had far less knee pain and my arms have grown back to a normal length. My experience may be evidence of the therapeutic benefits of magnets or it may have been 100% psychosomatic. Either way I don’t really care. I spent £20 got a nice looking bracelet and I can put my own socks on. Money well spent in anyone’s book.

Looks very nice but it tarnished and showed signs of wear very quickly

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Give this beautiful bracelet a try
*by T***E on 27 May 2015*

I've waited approx. 3 weeks before writing this review as I know how these items can take time to work their 'magic'.Why did I purchase it? At the grand old age of just 44 I was recently diagnosed with Osteoarthritis :( I've typed since leaving school at 16 and have continued to fast touch-type most of my working life so it didn't really come as a massive surprise that I've worn some of the joints out. Still, I didn't like it one bit and I felt that the negative effects were getting worse by the day. I didn't want to succumb to taking medicine but after much research thought it was a good idea to take daily glucosamine supplements. When I typed in my condition into Amazon I was quite surprised to learn of these pretty bracelets and thought to myself that it wouldn't do any harm to see if it worked. If nothing good came from it, I still had a lovely looking bracelet! When it first arrived I was really surprised how lovely it looked. The presentation box is beautiful and the bracelet itself is really eye catching. After wearing it for just one day I was gutted when it completely broke in 2 for no apparent reason.I contacted Mind n Body to explain my disappointment and they quickly sent a replacement as I was eager to continue wearing it.The second one arrived and 3 weeks on I haven't experienced any breaking issues with it. I have worn it every day (not night) and I can honestly report that although my symptoms haven't completely disappeared they have definitely faded and with that comes the lowering of pain that I was experiencing. Is it all my head? I ask myself this question on numerous occasions but at the end of the day, even if my brain is 'thinking' that the bracelet is working rather than it 'actually' working I don't really care as I have noticed a difference and it does make my daily life more manageable.I do also think that I can thank the glucosamine supplements as I believe they have contributed to some of the difference as all my joints crack less after just a short period of taking them daily. My final advice? Give this beautiful bracelet a go. You would be crazy not to - after all, things can only get better?
