Shaft is too loose and does not fit snug into exhaust port. It does "clip" into the port, but there is at least 1/8 space around the tube in the port while it "floats" in place. Not optimal this way. Was able to engineer a fix where i chopped off the clip mechanism, sanded smooth and inserted / slipped on a chopped off true male 2.5 inch plastic end of a rarely used wet vac accessory and grafted/ force fit it on to the end of this then inserted into the exhaust port and it fit and worked fine.Read other reviews as well to get the gist. Sounds like there is a difference in older rigid vacs vs newer ones. Either way, a handy person can engineer a fix.Noise is reduced slightly.
