I usually comb mine through with a very wide comb and get it so that I can put my hair up, and it does last for days. I am not sure what Box Braids are, can you enlighten me as to what they are, as I would be very interested. The Secret is to make sure hair is patted dryish first, then rub through the hair and then just do whatever you want, it is not sticky or goes hard, it stays flexible like it has elastic in the contents, I think it is a very good product, and with that I use the John Frieda Leave-in Conditioner, that is very good at keeping the frizz under control too, same thing, use as the mousse, if possible comb it through and then your style, once you have done your style, you can then if you wish, spray their Shine Conditioner and that again contains a No Frizz guarantee and like a Hairspray, I hope that this helps, and I would love to know what Box Braids are please. I dont think it matters who uses it. **Q: Can this be used to keep curls after doing heartless curls over night?** A: I guess so…I use it on my natural curls to freshen them up if I don’t have time to wash my hair.
